Women's Fellowship
The Matriarchs of Friedens are vibrantly active. They can be found, on a regular basis,
baking cookies for Emmaus Homes, making gifts for our shut-ins, hustling in the church
kitchen baking or cooking for an event, organizing meetings in and out of the church, and
more. In addition to participating in this active ministry the Women's Fellowship quilts
multiple quilts for sale and auction for even more ministries outside of Friedens. These
ladies are a continual amazement for their skill and generosity. In this photo:

Women Of Worship is an inspirational women's fellowship group that meets
in the home of a different member each time. The group has also met in the
church building when more space is needed for the members or the program
for the night. Each gathering is dedicated to a theme. Themes include
Theatre Night, Game Night, and more! We also explore a featured scripture
each time we gather. Come join us as we celebrate being a woman of Christ
in today’s world. For more information, contact the church office.

The Evangelism Committee focuses their attention on getting the word out to the public about
Friedens. They put into motion a variety of activities that help to us solidify a connection with
the local and global community. In this photo: Left to Right - Kim Whitney, Jim Nahmensen,

This group was formed with the explicit purpose to remain in existence for one year. Each member
represented a specific constituency within the membership of the congregation. No one family was
represented more than the one individual. Each ministry of Friedens was represented by a respective
leader. Various age generations were represented as well as extremely diverse, and strong, opinions about
the direction of the church. At the conclusion of the year all the members of this group were in common
agreement about God's Vision for Friedens. THAT is the work of the Holy Spirit. In this photo: Left

Friedens is a congregation of deep-rooted traditions. However, traditions in the world change from year
to year. The Worship Committee is responsible for organizing the overall worship experience of our
church so that God's Word is presented authentically to multiple generations. This a daunting task
when taking into consideration the speed at which technology evolves and our world "shrinks" due to
the speed of communication. These members have lead the way in producing skits, contemporary
music, video and Power Point presentations, and more all with glorifying God as their motivation. In

Praise Sound is filled with energy and flexibility in Christ. This group of talented volunteers, with the
assistance of the staff, leads our contemporary worship service "New Roots". One moment they are
leading the congregation in a thoughtful, quite song and the next they have the same congregation on
their feet clapping to the rhythm of the guitars and drums. Praise Sound demonstrates their faith by
living the belief that God is still speaking the same message but in a different way. In this photo: Left

Our Sanctuary Choir is the foundation of our vocal music ministry. From this group springs the talent
and inspiration to branch out to other opportunities for praising God. Conversely, this group also
remains steadfast to the style of music that has inspired our congregation for more than 170 years. This
group participates in our traditional worship service as a group in addition to seeding ensembles and solo
opportunities. They are truly a blessing to hear each time they come together in song. In this photo:

Considering that individuals as early as 1834 are laid to rest in our cemetery the task of our Cemetery
Board is not easy. In addition to church members Friedens opened its arms to the St. Charles during a
cholera epidemic during the late 1800's. Our cemetery is a bastion of knowledge for many who trace
their family roots back to our area. The Cemetery Board's work is a never ending task. In this photo:

Consistory
We call the group of people who has the responsibility to keep the whole congregation moving in the
same direction "The Consistory". The Consistory is comprised of individuals who act as
representatives to each of the individual committees of our church. These individuals report back and
forth between the Consistory and their respective committee. Taking all the individual reports into
consideration the Consistory makes decisions on the best course of action for the whole church. Taking
into consideration that Friedens has 200+ active members and an additional 150+ fringe-members being
on the Consistory is both an honor and a tremendous responsibility. The group truly engages life in the
name of God's Holy Spirit. In this photo: Left to Right - (Front Row) Susan Aiello, Debbie Ayres
